THANKSGIVING

By Leola Snider Perkins

This time of year we pause and think
Of things we're grateful for.
One thing we all can say
We now have peace, not war.

This time of year the leave turn brown
And fall upon the ground,
We think of cold days coming soon
With snow - we're winter bound.

This time of year we spread our tables
With many dishes of good food,
And then our loved ones gather there
In a festive and happy mood;

To sit and talk and reminisce
Of days that now are past,
Remembering changing years
When time was not so fast.

So much to be thankful for
As we look above and see.
We thank you Lord for caring.
We are grateful unto thee.
